Hiba is a talented Lebanese 18 years old. Her father, Abdo Mounzer, discovered her talents since she was a child. “She used to sing and dance in her room all the time” he says, “She had her earphones listening to music and creating new dance moves for a song!”
Little girl, mature voice!
Hiba had her TV debut at the age of five, performing on the “Tele Liban” and “Future” channels
Travelling with her father and a talented choir of young kids to France, Hiba prepared for the big event at Salle des Fêtes Annexe de la Mairie- Paris 14e, during Christmas 1997. This consisted in singing live Christmas Carols. Hiba sang live in front of an acclaimed music audience a solo track. The result was unexpected success, and compliments on her singing talents.
It was necessary to proceed accordingly after this success, so Abdo Mounzer decided to introduce Hiba to a larger audience by having her record an album for children. It included 10 songs written by Lebanese poets, and was completed by a video clip recording of the song Namleh. Hiba participated in the summer of 1998 in an international festival in Cairo, Nile’s first child song, singing “tic-tac” that was also included in her first album.
In the same year, Hiba joined the choir Les jeunes amis. This improved her singing and gained her necessary stage experience. In 1999, she was for seven months the presenter of the TV show Efrahou maana (be happy with us) on the Tele Lumiere channel.
Discovering passion for singing
Hiba was invited as a guest of honor to a “Lions” event at the Regency Palace in the summer of 2001. She performed with a group of professional dancers (freestyle) for the remix of Britney Spears’ hit Crazy.
Hiba is proud to have recorded 3 Arabic songs, for Disney’s Middle East channel. This was due to a request of Disney ME manager. The shows she recorded were (Peperan, Pbnj and Kim possible).
November 2001, brought winds of change to Hiba. She followed her dream of being a performer. This was realized when participated in Romania in the First International song contest for children.
She was 14 then, yet with a powerful voice that won her the 3rd runner up award, not forgetting a lifetime opportunity to remember. “It was the first time that I felt this love for singing.”She says, “Although it was a tough competition, and the song I had to sing was difficult and requires a professional singer; I did not let stage fear control me, and I discovered how powerful my voice can be.”
...I decided from that moment, that I wanted this as my career!
Hiba made numerous appearances on TV, such as on MTV and LBC as a result of her success in Romania. “I felt I was walking a new path” and accordingly, she started taking dancing courses at “Arabesque” (winter 2002) and practicing under the guidance of Britney Spears, J.Lo and Janet Jackson’s videos.
She improved her singing skills by practicing on Christina Aguilera and Lara Fabian’s songs
Big dreams, hard work
Following years of preparation, Hiba decided to record her own songs. Backed by her father and a professional team, she started working on releasing her first album.
Hiba is attaining the top she has always dreamed of. She released 3 hit singles along with their video clips, and CD-single that featuring her first 2 songs. Hiba’s songs are on the frequently requested lists, and her clips show how talented she is and how much energy she can give. Hiba says:“ Now that I have come to a point where I’m fulfilling my dream, I’m more excited than ever… there’s a lot of potential still hidden in me, I am still on the way up, and by God’s will, I will be able to climb all the exhausting mountains and plant the flag of success” .
